Apple butter is the first jam we ever put into jars, now, with a new and improved silky smooth texture. We start with whole apples sourced from a handful of orchards from western NC and SW Virginia. These apples are cooked into applesauce the old fashioned way, and we continue the long, slow simmer until we have something that's down right jammy.
As good as it is on toast, apple butter can be used for so many things! It would be great in salad dressings, as a mix-in for cocktails or as a glaze on your proteins or vegetables! It would also make a terrific host/hostess gift! Truly one of our most versatile jams.
