It’s been another fun week at Monuts HQ. We’ve spent the time since Valentine’s Day adding to our recipe collection, working on a delicious blueberry-banana donut. And my, oh my, is it a delicious one. It’s exactly what we need to remind us that Winter will eventually end. (It only took one day of snow for us to be done with Winter this year. We’re wimps!).
Monuts will be out again this Saturday at the Durham Farmer’s Market, and we’ve got quite a few delicious options this week. We’re going with a mix of both old and new. On the menu this week is:
1) Maple-Bacon-Bourbon: No further description needed
2) Maple frosted: For those that don’t do bacon donuts
3) Strawberry frosted: Did we mention that we miss Spring? We picked up some fresh strawberries and made them into an all-natural, bright pink glaze. It’s delicious
4) Chocolate Earl Grey: This one went over so well at the Carrboro Valentine’s Day Rodeo that we want to bring it to Durham. It’s a double-chocolate treat– a chocolate cake donut with an Earl Grey-infused chocolate frosting.
5) Banana blueberry: It will be our first time selling this one, and it’s delicious. By the way, this one’s vegan?
Come find us Saturday morning just outside the Durham Farmer’s Market. We’ll be set up around 10 and gone when we sell out.
We’ve had a few questions about preorders lately. Since we’re only out a few days a month right now, we’ve taken away the preorder section of our page. We’re still selling donuts by the dozen, though. On Saturday morning, we’ll have a few dozens prepacked for $12.50. The prepacked dozens are a somewhat equal mix of all five varieties. Or, if you want to pick your own dozen, you can do that as well, with the price determined by the mix of donuts you choose.
We look forward to seeing you this Saturday.
Cheers,
Lindsay
